Circle Journal So Far

Here's what I'd like to do. I'd like everyone to have their topics chosen by the first of the year. THEN You all need to scrap your topic as an example. Usually, Circle Journals have an instruction page, where you give your guidelines for your topic, and specify your size. What I would like you all who are participating to do, is to BLOG (or post on Tally in the Gallery) your Instruction Page. Anyone here interested??

I'd like to host a Circle Journal for JUST TallyRally gals who are interested!! My thought is, that we can sign up, and get the pages ready to BRING WITH US to the TallyRally, then we can all see each other's pages, and put the books together AT the Rally... AND I thought I might work on a few of the pages THERE at the rally! It would help me to be able to pack myself for scrapping if I had specific pages in mind!!

I've got my flight booked!

It is not cheap flying into Wisonsin...so spoiled by Southwest! I am ready to get there and I arrive on Thursday around 2 I think. I'll post my itinerary once it's emailed to me. I believe Shirley and Rachel have their flights booked too! Woohoo..it's coming fast!

You know what I had visions of today? All of us at our scraptables and someone yells, "SWITCH", and everyone plays musical chairs for a moment and finishes the layout on the desk of whom they've landed..doesn't that sound like fun...we could even do it a few times to get all types of styles on one layout. I'm just throwing it out there but I would be game for that.

Just think..I could have Shannon, Tricia, HO, Minda, Katie, Julie, Nicole, Dawn, Nicole, Jen, Angela, Shirley, Nancy, Lisa...who else am I missing?? add something to my page. Yeah, that would earn the most tallypoints ever!

Hi TallyRally-ers! There's been some updates on our group-- we did have two cancellations, but Shirley decided to join us which was great news!!

For now, we are going to assume we will be able to fill the house and have 18 people total (right now I think we have 17). If we end up being short in the end, we will make up the difference at that time.

Because we are filling the house, we are getting the 18 person rate, which is $2,250. Divided by 18, that is $125 per person for 3 nights: Fri, Sat., and Sunday night ( a really good deal). With tax that comes to 131.87 per person.

Thursday night is different; we will be charged a house rate of $600 for Thursday night. Everyone who stays on Thursday will split the $600 among them. If all 18 of us stay Thursday night, it will be only $36 per person.

When we all pay Blooming Escapes our total, Christine, Amanda, & I will be refunded our deposits, which total $600. We are asking that everyone please pay the retreat directly as soon as possible--preferably by December 15 at the latest. I understand this might be rough with the holidays coming. But we really need to get this done for 2 reasons. First, so that we minimize the risk of last minute cancellations which will impact all of our payment totals. Second, so that those of us who paid a deposit can get that back (for myself, that was $350, which was fine but I could use that back for Christmas shopping!!)

So: checks should be made out to Blooming Escapes for $131.87, and everyone can send it individually. The address is 718 Forest View Dr. Verona, WI 53593. Please just make note with your check that you are with our group under Julie Miller's name. Since some people are undecided at this time about Thursday night, Kerry said that we could pay for Thursday night separately, whenever we get that figured out.

The money part is not easy :( , but in the end we are going to have an amazing time! Christine has some fabulous freebies and prizes in store for us all weekend. We'll be pampered and well fed...and we'll get TONS of scrapping done!

we had a cancellation!

Tricia and I were rooming with our dear friend Vanessa. I got word from Vanessa that she will not be able to make it after all. So I spoke with Julie and we were thinking that we should have a "pay by date" For what if we show up and a few don't, then are we stuck with their bill? Or if they cancel a month before going giving us no time to find other roomates. Some of us are flying a long way so we also have to make arrangements financially and don't want to be stuck paying a lot more than we are anticipating. And that way maybe it will narrow down who is really going.

Does this all make sense? Julie can probably explain way better than me!

Lisa gave me edit rights to the blog today, so I got to work making us a blog link list here to the right. Did I forget anyone?? Now we can stalk each other with ease leading up to our trip. Angela (megsmama), Niki D., Jen (imxfer), and Dawn (gonescrappin) are the only 4 I don't have a blog address for. Let me know if you have one. If you click on your name, it takes you to blogger.com. I also deleted the contributor list by complete accident. I was trying to edit it so that we could add the rest of our group to it and I messed it up. Will anyone miss it? Are the blogs enough?

Oops! It was pretty inactive here for awhile so I've forgotten to check back. I had no idea there was a party going on! Thanks to Christine for the heads up at Tallyscrapper!

That photo of Julie from Loveboat just made me LMAO. I am so in to do everyone's bidding as far as making phone calls, reservations, etc.!! But I definitely think we should use the democratic process for figuring out how we want to spend our time, what to eat, make; all the fun stuff. So I'm glad we have this blog for figuring it all out (thanks, Lisa!!)

I have NO diecuts of any sort to contribute, I'm not really a die-cut scrapper although I love them on other people's pages. As far as the rest of the posts, I'll get busy commenting!

Hello everyone! And who is everyone by the way? Do we have a complete list? Did I hear a rumor that TallyHo will be there? Can it be?

Now that my Boston TallyRally is behind me I'm getting more excited about this one. That was the appetizer to the big ole entree coming down in February, so many of us together at last!

Wish it was tomorrow...my personal to do list is overwhelming me and I'd much rather just load up the car and go scrapbooking!

Should I bring my cricut and all my cartridges? What special thing is everyone else bringing? Is there a sewing machine there?

and I don't know anything yet...she is going to email me her answer about what she is going to do about it. I told her I felt I had let her know it was a big group of us and how I would be shipping things and I was asking about catering so she had an idea and that my not registering under Julie means that Amanda got screwed up and can she honor the group rate, she did not have to refund me so we'll see. I'll let you ladies know when I know!

An Army Marches on its Stomach

Ok, it's waay too early to worry about finalizing anything, but I was making chili the other day and thinking, Gosh, I like chili, I wonder if it would be good to make at the retreat.

Does anyone have any special dietary needs? Extreme dislikes?

Since our big group is comprised of several little groups, it would probably work to have groups volunteer to do lunch or dinner one of the days. If you want to cook, awesome, if you want to order pizza, or other delivery food, awesome too. I wouldn't mind going into the Dells one of the nights for a dinner out, but otherwise, it's winter so I would rather stay in for the other meals.

What do you think?

Christine and Mandy, let us know what Kerry says when you contact her...I will complain again too, but if all else fails, Shannon gave me an idea this morning: we can always add up what we all owe together and just divide by 18. That would be fair, and then no one is shouldering the difference on their own.

Another reminder-- our deposit is refunded when we pay; like a hotel.

Okay, I called Blooming Escapes today to get a rundown on our registration situation and this is what Kerry, the owner, told me:

That Christine and Amanda (Mandy) are both registered with their own separate deposits and she was unaware that they were part of our group (?!). She said that everyone else who registered let her know that they were part of our group, therefore they were not charged a separate deposit, although I was charged with a higher deposit at that time.

I asked her if Christine and Mandy could have their deposits refunded, and their groups could be added to ours, and I would be happy to pay for the further increase in the deposit ($450 instead of the $350 I have already paid). She said no, it would be difficult for her to do that at this point. I let on that I didn't think that was fair, but she didn't budge...BUT, I am thinking that it is possible that if Mandy and Christine call her up individually and ask her about changing their reservation, it is possible she'll do that even though she told ME no. It might be worth a try. It would bring your individual rates down somewhat, because you are each paying a 1-room rate and I guess we are paying a 3-room rate.

Make sense? It just barely does to me. To further complicate things, some people are signed up to arrive on Thursday, and others on Friday. BUT-- she says anyone arriving on Thursday will pay $50 for the Thursday night stay, and that goes for anyone in the TallyRally house.

She did say she would give our entire group of 18 people Sunday night free (because Shannon, Katie, Nicole & I stayed at this retreat in April which gave us the bonus night free).

That's all I got, scrapping friends, if there are other issues here I'm not thinking of, put 'em out there, and maybe we can get it figured out...

registration info

Hi all-- just wanted to let you know that I called Kerry, the owner of Blooming Escapes, this afternoon-to get a run down of the registration situation now that the whole house should be reserved. I am awaiting her e-mail that will put in writing (and maybe clear up) some of the things we discussed. I will post as soon as I receive it-she said she planned to send it out today.

So, Mandy's email says she received information in the mail on the weekend. Were we to receive some sort of confirmation outside of the email from the owner? Anyone else receive something in the mail? Just curious.
